Sophie Whiteley - Marketing Coordinator & Vimba JHB Representative
Sophie Whiteley, originally from South Africa, arrived in London in 2005 where she worked for an elite private equity firm in the marketing and events arena. Sophie is armed with an English and Drama degree, and her excellent communication skills contribute to Vimba’s marketing team. Sophie is a strong and highly efficient representative for Vimba whose innovative ideas and energy drive projects and concepts through to execution. After travelling India towards the end of 2008, Sophie returned to South Africa where she is now heading up a new initiative, Vimba JHB.
‘Sometimes I don't know which saddens me more - the intolerable cruelty inflicted on innocent people, or their ability to endure it. Isn't it amazing how people who have nothing still manage to smile and remain humble through the most tragic situations. It is those smiles that have got me through the many ups and downs of London life - now it is my turn to repay them.’
