Thank you to all of our supporters who voted for us! Vimba won the award for "Community Organization of the year award" and we are all thrilled!

> V4V

Vote for Vimba -Vimba is very excited to announce that it has been nominated for the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards, in the category “COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR”. We are very honored to be included in such a prestigious awards ceremony and we believe it is a testament to our supporters who work tirelessly in spreading the knowledge of Vimba as an organization.

What makes Vimba so unique and has allowed us to grow at the phenomenal rate we have - is the small, hands on nature of our charity. Our London and Zimbabwean committees comprise of ten individuals who are all very hands on and absolutley dedicated to the cause. This allows us to account for every penny donated and enables us to give sponsors updates, pictures and reports on directly where their donation is helping. It is this fast, personalised communication with our supporters that differentiates us from most other medium to large scale Zimbabwean charities.

Winning this award would mean so much to Vimba because it would give us the opportunity to gain widespread recognition for the work we are doing in Zimbabwe and most importantly for the work that we still need to do.  It follows that the more people that know about Vimba, the more support we will get and therefore the more children we can feed, clothe and educate.

2011 promises to be our best year yet, with exciting developments for our Zimbabwe team on the ground and more sponsorship interest than ever before. Please join us in our fight to save Zimbabwe’s most desperate children by voting for Vimba.

We are under the Community Organization category - Thank you!

zim-flag.jpgOur Land. Our People. Our Problem.

The Crisis in Zimbabwe is being overlooked by major donor countries, and when they do try to help, the food and money does not always reach the intended people. Many lives have been torn apart in this country, as thousands of people have been left destitute and many are forced to flee their homes in search of a way to provide for their family’s survival. This has had a huge impact on the region and continues to destabilize it.

The crisis has reached a critical level and we are pleading with people to do what they can to stop this suffering. People have a responsibility to care for those less fortunate than themselves.

These people need our help, we CAN make a difference. This is the time to act together to help those that have been mercilessly forgotten .
